Government of Georgia – Government Meetings 2006 Year

Meeting of the 15 November 2006

The Meeting of the Government of Georgia was held on 15 November 2006. The Agenda consisted of 26 items.

At the commencement of the Meeting, Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli welcomed Minister of Defence of Georgia Davit Kezerashvili, Minister of Agriculture Petre Tsiskarishvili and State Attorney of the President of Georgia for Imereti Akaki Bobokhidze and wished them success in their service.
The Prime Minister of Georgia briefed those present that the implementation of the new stage of relations of Georgia with the European Union in terms of the Action Plan of the European Neighbourhood Program had started on 14 November. In this respect, he added that recently he had had a talk with the EU Trade Commissar. They had reached agreement over the fact that Georgia could start negotiations with Turkey over free trade. Besides, the talks over free trade with the European Union would also be launched. Both of these questions were critically important for a sustainable development of the Georgian economy and Georgia expressed appreciations for that step of the European Union.
