On December 10, 2010, Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri, met with businessmen in the Economic Zone of Registration (EZR).
"A week ago, President Saakashvili declared about the New Course here. We gathered businessmen and investors here and explained to them what the New Course means, showed them the new economic zone of registraion and made a comparison between what it was like before and what it is like today. We can say that we have implemented very important reforms in the Revenue Service and the Ministry of Finance during this period. The infrastructure has been improved and everything has been rehabilitated, new facilities have been constructed. We have a new Tax Code which takes efect from January 1 (2011). We have new people who have been retrained in the recent months. Everything is ready to implement the New Course and to remedy the shortcomings that existed before between the private sector and the Revenue Service," declared the Prime Minister after the meeting.
