Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission holds meeting at the Government Chancellery of Georgia On November 24 of 2010, Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission held a meeting at the Government Chancellery of Georgia. After the meeting, the Head of the Press Service of the Prime Minister made a statement. We present Nikoloz Mchedlishvili's speech: "According to the decision of Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission, from December 1, water tariff will raise up to GEL 3.15 per capita in Tbilisi. In this respect, Tbilisi City Hall had certain opinions. The Water Commission convened a meeting with the Prime Minister making respective decisions. The population shall know that in Tbilisi districts where there is not 24-hour water supply, the previous rate - GEL 2.40 shall remain unchanged. This decision can motivate Tbilisi Water Supply Company to change and improve the infrastructure in such districts and then to move to 24-hour water supply.

Representatives of socially unprotected layer amounting to 105 thousand people in Tbilisi will pay the half of the sum, while the other part of the amount shall be covered by Tbilisi City Hall from its budget.

Apart from this, for entrepreneurs the previous rate shall remain unchanged. It should be mentioned that the rate established till 2015 which will take effect from December 1, shall not be changed.

Tbilisi Water Supply Company shall improve its infrastructure till 2012. It is obliged to completely provide 24-hour water supply within Tbilisi.
