Prime Minister’s Visit to Lithuania

Prime Minister of Georgia Nika Gilauri end the President of Lithuania Dalia Gribauskaites On 2-3 September 2010, Prime Minister of Georgia Nika Gilauri travelled on an official visit to Lithuania.

As part of the visit, the Prime Minister met with President of Lithuania Dalia Gribauskaites and Prime Minister of Lithuania Andrius Kubiliusis.

"Our political cooperation is developing on a top level. Nevertheless, I'd wish for closer cooperation. Therefore, we are going to have interesting meetings with the private sector. We are going to clue them in on the Georgian economic reality and invite them to our country to do business in Georgia.

Lithuania was the first country to adopt a document of occupation of Georgian territories, thus setting an example to other countries. Therefore, I'd like to express my appreciations once again.

The six-item ceasefire agreement signed two years ago is a master document. However, Russia is not fulfilling any of its items. On the contrary, Russia is building military bases in Abkhazia and South Ossetia," said Nika Gilauri after the meeting with the Lithuanian Prime Minister. During his visit in Lithuania, Prime Minister of Georgia Nika Gilauri took part in the Georgian-Lithuanian Business Forum. The Georgian Prime Minister pointed out that there are opportunities to purchase wheat from Lithuania.

"The delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture will be clarifying particular details. The wheat market diversification that was our core goal has been achieved. Georgia will get more wheat import than she actually needs.

Batumi is not a large city but I just can't think of any European city of the size where five premier quality hotels are being concurrently built: the Sheraton, the Radisson, the
Kampinsky, the Hilton and the Hyatt. One has already been completed, two will be completed this year and the other two - by the end of the next year. Batumi is drawing a large number of Georgian and foreign tourists. Batumi is the place where Armenian and Azeri tourists rest together and enjoying wine, not fighting.

Batumi is the place where guests can enjoy a wide variety of great hotels, best night clubs, cafes, restaurants, and best of Georgian hospitality and Georgian wines.
Taken together, all of this is a key for sure success", said Nika Gilauri at the Business Forum.

The Prime Minister of Georgia also met with Irena Degutienes, the Chairperson of the Lithuanian Seim.
