On December 6-7, 2011, Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri, paid a two-day working visit to Republic of Kazakhstan.

Within the frameworks of the visit, the Prime Minister of Georgia met with the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Karim Massimov.

"Political support of Kazakhstan is very important for Georgia. I mean post Soviet space, Middle Asia. Kazakhstan is one of the leading countries in Middle Asia and it is very important that such a worm relation has been established between Georgia and Kazakhstan.

As for economic relations, I can say that during the last years, Kazakh companies are one of the greatest investors in Georgia. They have made investments in Batumi port, as well as in Tbilisi.

At present, we carry out negotiations on trade, export of Georgian agricultural products to Kazakhstan. In this direction, we have had several meetings today and I am sure that Georgian export towards Kazakhstan shall increase noticeably," pointed out Nika Gilauri during his visit in Kazakhstan.
