The Prime Minister gets acquainted with grapes delivery process at Kakheti Print Version

The Prime Minister, Vano Merabishvili, was in Kakheti, where he visited wineries of Telavi Wine Cellar and Teliani Valley Private Companies participating in grapes delivery process.

At first, the prime Minister visited Telavi Wine Cellar , which receives 100 tons of grapes on average per day and plans to receive 4 thousand tons of grapes in total, during the vintage. In Cellar, Vano Merabishvili talked to foreign tourists who had come to see the winery and expressed his interest towards their plans on traveling in Georgia.

Later, the Prime Minister visited Teliani Valley winery and attended grapes delivery process. The Company receives 50-80 tons of grapes per day and plans to receive 1,400 tons of grapes in total, during the vintage.
Vano Merabishvili inspected Teliani Valley cellar as well, where he degusted wine produced by the Company. According to him, number of visitors has increased by 60% during the current year and the abovementioned trend will continue in the next years. As a result, with respect to wine tourism only, Kakheti will be visited by 2-3 million tourists a year, which will cause increase of demand for wine on local market.
