H.E. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia chaired an Executive Government Meeting today. Cabinet of Ministers discussed 36 items listed in the agenda of the meeting.

In line with the Government Resolution, 195 internally displaced people (IDPs) have been provided with housing for gratis in Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Khoni and Tskaltubo. Since 2012 around 13600 IDP households have been granted houses under the Government Resolution.

Cabinet of Ministers also approved a Draft Resolution on the Privatization of Real Estate Held by State through Direct Sale, according to which 94 current and former military personnel of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia were granted apartments in a residential block within a cantonment at 3, Abashvili Street in Tbilisi.

In line with the Government Resolution, Mziani Mosavali Ltd - local producer of Georgian chips with a trademark name of FRIXX will be supported in the extension of business by allocating an agricultural land parcel through a direct sale in Talaveri village within Bolnisi region, while 5 land plots of arable land will be leased out for a period of 10 years within the same village and in Savaneti settlement also. Mziani Mosavali Ltd has committed to set up a food processing and cooling infrastructure at the acquired land plots. It will irrigate the area and install water pumps and supply systems.

Company will produce potatoes at 80 per cent of the acquired land, which will be processed further to produce chips. Mziani Mosavali Ltd plans to invest 700 000 GEL in total to comply with its commitment and launch its production.

Government also approved a Draft Government Resolution on the 10 Year Development Plan for the Power Transmission Grid in Georgia, according to which 735 million Euros will be invested in the energy infrastructure of Georgia. The referred 10 Year Development Plan of Power Transmission in Georgia covers 2017-2027 and is aimed at the establishment of a reliable and effective transmission system, upgrades to the generation sources and integration of the renewable energy into the national energy system, along with the advancement of energy efficiency. Investments towards this end will be made by International Financial Institutions (IFIs): Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the World Bank.

Government Decree N183 on the Amendments to the Original Government Decree on Establishment of an International Center of Education - Legal Entity of Public Law (LEPL) dated April 24, 2015 has been announced void, as a result of which the referred unit has been subordinated to the state control under the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Decision has been made by the Government on the grounds of close links between the aims and goals of the center and functions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
