EXECUTIVE GOVERNMENT MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 15, 2017 Print Version

Officiated by Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili at the Administration of the Government, today's Government meeting discussed seven issues on its agenda.

The Cabinet approved the bill on amendments to the Law on the Structure, Authority and Operation of the Government of Georgia and bills stemming from it to be referred to the Parliament for reviewing.

According to the package of structural changes, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development will incorporate the Ministry of Energy and the natural resource management component of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection.
The youth affairs management component of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs will be placed under the Ministry of Education and Science.

The sports component of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs will fall under the purview of the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection.

The Ministry of Environment Protection will absorb the Ministry of Agriculture.

After the adoption of the bill, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will incorporate the Office of the State Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
The integration and reorganization of the Emergency Management Agency, currently under the Interior Ministry, and the State Security and Crisis Management Council will result in the creation of the Emergency Management Center.

The Government also comes up with an initiative to incorporate the Intelligence Service into the State Security Service.
Along with the changes implemented in different ministries, the structural optimization of the legal entities of public law is also underway.
