Today, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze lit the capital's main Christmas tree on First Republic Square.
The Head of Government and the Capital's Mayor wished the population happy holidays. As Mamuka Bakhtadze emphasized, an all-out effort is being made to make sure that 2019 is a better year.

"I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, especially our little ones. Thanks to Kakhi, Tbilisi looks so gorgeous in anticipation of the coming year 2019. Surely, 2018 has not been the easiest year for our country. Unfortunately, a large proportion of our population is still facing hardship. Today more than ever, Georgia needs solidarity. It is by standing together, through great love, motivation and, most importantly, solidarity that we will solve every problem. 2019 will be a far better year, and we are doing everything to this end. I am grateful to you for reiterating your trust in us in 2018. I would like to single out and wish happy holidays to our emigrants and our citizens living in the occupied territories. I am convinced that our solidarity will achieve a lot. Once again, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I wish you peace, solidarity, happiness, and our homeland's progress and prosperity," Mamuka Bakhtadze said.
