As it was pointed out during today's meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia and European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, we must do everything to ensure EUMM mandate's implementation throughout the occupied territories, which will support ensuring security for our citizens.
During the meeting, the Head of Government expressed commitment to close and productive cooperation with the new leadership of relevant EU institutions.
According to the Prime Minister, Georgia remains committed to its European trajectory and development, steadfastly continuing its course of reforms, including in the context of the Association Agreement and DCFTA.
The meeting at the Administration of the Government emphasized Georgia's achievements toward EU integration, including in terms of the implementation of the Association Agreement and visa-free arrangements.
As it was underlined, Georgia is among the EU's responsible partners. In this context, the parties emphasized the country's active efforts seeking to build on the success on the path to European integration.
The meeting also discussed Georgia's EU Roadmap reflecting the Government's comprehensive vision of accession to the EU. The parties underlined the importance of maintaining top-level meetings between the Government of Georgia and the European Union. The discussion also revolved around security. According to the Prime Minister, Georgia appreciates the EU role in the process of peaceful resolution of the Russia-Georgia conflict. In addition, the parties discussed the need to strengthen international security mechanisms and to secure the international community's clear position in response to the destructive actions of the occupant forces.
The Prime Minister thanked the European Commissioner for his special attention to Georgia and his personal contribution to the country's European integration.
