Official Visit of the Georgian Prime Minister to Turkey

On 5-8 October Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli visited Turkey.

On 5 October he met his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara. After the meeting the parties held a press conference. On the same day, the Georgian State Oil Company and state oil companies of Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding at the Sheraton Hotel.

On 6 October Noghaideli met Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer. Within the framework of the visit the Georgian delegation met Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs/Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul and Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc.

Delegation members also met with representatives of the Georgian diaspora in Istanbul. Later, Prime Minister Noghaideli delivered a speech at Koc University.

On 7 October the Ceylan Inter Hotel hosted a business forum which featured a Georgian wine-tasting. The Georgian delegation also visited Erzrum where it visited cultural monuments.
