Official Visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to Azerbaijan

A Georgian government delegation paid an official visit to Azerbaijan on 18-19 July 2005. Within the framework of the visit, the head of the delegation, Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli met Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Artur Rashizade. On 19 July Noghaideli had a business breakfast with David Woodward, the president of BP Azerbaijan.
Georgian Energy Minister Nika Gilauri, Georgian Railways head Irakli Ezugbaia and Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zurab Gumberidze also attended the meeting. BP was represented by BP Azerbaijan Vice President Michael Townsend and Wref Diggings, the president of BP Georgia.

On the first day of the visit an intergovernmental economic committee meeting was held. On the same day a Georgian-Azerbaijani business forum began at which Noghaideli and Azerbaijani First Deputy Prime Minister Abbas Abbasov delivered speeches.

The Georgian delegation visited Winery No 2 in Ganja and attended the exhibition "Georgia, the Cradle of Wine". The Georgian prime minister also laid flowers at a monument to Heydar Aliyev.
