On December 27, 349 new tractors were delivered to the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia and this act was undertaken within the national presidential program - Enhancement of Renovation of the Agricultural Machines and Appliances. The Prime Minister of Georgia Vladimer Gurgenidze and the Minister of Agriculture of Georgia Petre Tsiskarishvili attended the event.
First the tractors will be delivered to the municipalities and then, after holding the tenders, - to the population. - "This is but one of the stages of the program on Enha-ncement of Renovation of the Agricultural Machines and Appliances, which has been planned by our government and which is being implemented according to the set plan. The tractors will be delivered to the municipalities and then, on the basis of the tendering process, their further distribution will take place. The tractors will be received by those entities, juridical or physical persons which will become the winners of the competition arranged under the Cheap Credit program. This is a significant step forward with regard to providing the agricultural field by necessary mechanical equipment. In spring of 2008, five hundred more tractors will be imported. Apart from this, many other important events are planned to be realized within the framework of the above mentioned program. All those measures will enhance revival of agriculture and the village life in general", - Vladimer Gurgenidze asserted.
