Prime Minister’s Visit to the USA Begins

On December 4 began the visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli to the USA. According to the program of visit, on December 5 Zurab Noghaideli produced a speech at the 9th annual conference of the US-Georgia business council held in Seattle. This conference caused a great interest of the American and Georgian business circles. The Prime Minister of Georgia reported on the current economic reforms in Georgia and noted that the macroeconomic stability and attractive business environment will create good conditions for attraction of investments, including American investments in the country.

At the conference also participated Mr. Paul Dyck, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe at the U.S. Department of Commerce. He underscored that the US Government will promote and encourages development of economic and commercial relations with Georgia as the strategic partner of the USA.

The first day of visit of the Prime Minister brought concrete results. The US Overseas Private Investments Corporation signed two documents with GMT Group. The first one implies allocation of 4 million credit for extension of the "Sante" network in Georgia and the second one - involvement of the US Overseas Private Investments Corporation in the implementation of the project which provides building of the multifunctional complex on Mtatsminda.

Tomorrow the Prime Minister will leave for Sacramento where he will address to the staff of the Davis University and will take part in the presentation devoted to popularization of Georgian wine.
