Georgia-Turkey Business Forum was held in the Hotel "RADISSON SAS IVERIA" on December 10, 2009. The Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri talked about Turkish investments in the energy sector of Georgia with the Turkish businessmen.
"We had a business conference in Istanbul several weeks ago, where the Turkish businessmen showed a great interest in investing money in the energy sector of Georgia. That time the Turkish businessmen promised to arrive in Georgia and visit the places of expected construction of HPPs. They are keenly aware of Georgia, know much about the Georgian economy and show great interest in our energy sector. They are ready to invest money in HPPs construction. And this meeting has given us one more chance to discuss the existing potentials in the energy sector of Georgia", said Nika Gilauri.
The Prime Minister also made some comments on the statement of the Russian President. "Occupation is still the key topic. As to visa regime, arrival, transit, we have never blocked the said things, on the contrary, sanctions were always imposed by the Russian party. Although, if Russia removes the sanctions on export, visa regime, transit, transport, etc, then this fact will be only and only welcoming".
