meeting of the Government of Georgia in Lopota Village, Kakheti A field meeting of the Government of Georgia was held in Lopota Village, Kakheti on November 11, 2009. The meeting was presided by the President of Georgia. The Agenda covered 46 items.

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili demonstrated new initiatives at the meeting convened in Lopota. According to the initiatives, representatives of Businessmen Federation and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce will take part in consideration of tax disputes. Only the Ministry of Finance will have the right to seal business and 35 million lari will be invested to pay back a Value Added Tax to businessmen.

With respect to this matter the Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri stated that this was another step towards more efficient activation of the private sector.

"120 million lari have been refunded to business within the last 10 years. According to our plans, the repaid Value Added Tax will be above 170 million lari. And as to 35 million lari which should have been paid back according to the procedures within the six month, we'll repay this year as well, "said Nika Gilauri.
