Prime Minister’s Adviser meets with UNFPA representatives Print Version

Today, Georgian Prime Minister's Human Rights Adviser Niko Tatulashvili and Head of the Human Rights Secretariat Maka Peradze held a meeting with the United Nations Population Fund's representatives. The meeting discussed the output of last year's performance, ongoing and planned activities, and prospects of deeper cooperation.

The meeting singled out the need to empower multidisciplinary approaches toward strengthening gender equality and eliminating harmful practices, including encouraging action from local self-government bodies, among others.

The parties also discussed challenges in the areas of women's economic empowerment and reproductive health, especially among women with disabilities, also ways to overcome these challenges. The conversation touched on opportunities for supporting parents with underage children in their self-realization efforts, and other relevant issues.

Meetings with the UNFPA, held annually, are designed to share information on work completed in relation to a variety of topics. During the meeting, the parties agreed on further steps and cooperation.
