Before the meeting started, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri, talked about expenses allocated for Imereti Region, for 2012. We present the Prime Minister's speech.

"Good day. We are holding second government meeting at the new house of government of Kutaisi. We will continue this tradition and hold such type of meeting in this building once in a month. Today, we will discuss projects of Imereti Region. This year has come to an end and a new year is coming. It is to be evaluated what has been done in Imereti Region during the last year and what we are going to do next year.

Apart from this, we will have meeting with Governors, representatives of City Assemblies later. Respectively, we will pass through regional budgets, projects to be implemented in Kutaisi and Imereti Region in general, in 2012, in details.

According to total figures, GEL 466 million has been allocated for next year budget that will be spent in Imereti Region. This is not a little amount. GEL 90-91 million is particularly to be emphasized, that will be used for Zestaponi-Samtredia highway; about GEL 50 million is also considered for gas pipeline that will be spent in Kutaisi-Senaki direction.

In total, these sums will be used for projects all over Georgia, but spent in Imereti Region. Respectively, local people and labour will mainly be employed. The GEL 466 also includes water and sewerage projects, which will be implemented next year. The main focus will be taken on Kutaisi. There have still been many problems in Kutaisi water supply system. Quite big sums are considered for provision of gas supply and installation of individual counters. These projects will be implemented by private companies. Next year, individual counters will be installed for more than 25 thousand subscribers, while additional 10 thousand subscribers will be provided with gas supply. We have agreed these figures with private companies: Energo-Pro and Socar and they will implement these projects.

Today, we will discuss plans of two Ministries for the next year. Later I will ask for holding additional presentation for press and public, in order that everyone knows what was done during the year of 2011, what problems we had, what we could not solve and what our aims are for the year of 2012."
