Visit of Prime Minister to Turkey Print Version

On June 3-4, 2012, Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri paid a working visit to Turkey.

During the visit, Prime Minister of Georgia met with the Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. At the meeting the sides discussed ongoing reforms in the country. Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the energy sector and the issues of cultural heritage.

"Together with Turkey, we carry out two significant strategic projects - Karsi-Akhalkalaki railroad and high-voltage power line of Borcha-Akhaltsikhe. This will give to Georgian companies an opportunity to export to Turkey and other countries more electricity" - noted Nika Gilauri.

After the meeting with Turkish Prime Minister, Nika Gilauri met with the founder of the World Economic Forum, Professor Klaus Schwab. After the meeting, Prime Minister of Georgia took part in the World Economic Forum, attended by representatives of more than 100 countries. The main theme of the Forum was the states, in which the most successful reforms were carried out.
