Today, in the Office of the Government of Georgia, under the direction of Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili has been held a regular Government meeting. Among the issues, discussed at the meeting were issues regarding the new National Health Insurance, Recording of job finders, Cattle free vaccination program and Program of land development promotion and registration of agricultural land and a new Concept of tax on extraction of forest resources.
At the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the necessity to remove bureaucratic barriers for business development. According to Vano Merabishvili, in spite of the fact that Georgia is one of the most successful countries in terms of starting your own business, there are still many obstacles in law, preventing the development of business in the country. The Prime Minister instructed the members of the Government to examine and simplify existing regulation in the ministries.
Progress of the new state health insurance program, which was presented to the Prime Minister by the Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia Zurab Chiaberashvili. According to the Minister, under the new health insurance program, from September 1 to September 6 to medical institutions already appealed 44 thousand newly insured persons, and more than 17,000 calls were received at the hotline.
Progress of Job finders' Program, submitted by the Director of Social Services Agency Ramaz Sulamanidze. According to him, of 763 thousand families, defined by job placement Agency, 460 thousand families (60.2%) have been visited by the job placement agents, and to the data base of questioned people were entered data of 258,000 families (33.8% of the total).Priority professions of those seeking a job are the operator in the bank, accountant and assistant.
Course of the Cattle free vaccination program was introduced by the Head of the National Service of Food Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection, David Koberidze. According to him, as a result of vaccination against foot and mouth disease, which began on August 1, of 922 thousand to be vaccinated cattle 498,000 has been already vaccinated, representing 54% of the total.
The course of the Program of land development promotion and registration of agricultural land was presented by the Chairman of the Public Registry Agency, Soso Tsikarishvili. According to his statement, at the moment field works are completed on a land in 350 thousand hectares, of which the registration of 207 hectares has already been carried out, and 160,000 owners have received the extracts. Until the end of 2012, the number in the electronic data base will increase to 1 million, agricultural land registration will be continued next year and the number in the electronic data base will increase to 2.5 million. Tsikarshvili stressed that the project has already led to the fact that citizens of Georgia were able to save about 40 million lari in the form of various fees and contributions.
The new Concept of taxes on extraction of forest resources was represented by Minister of Finance Alexander Khetaguri. Under the new concept, the number of charges for the extraction of forest resources will be drastically reduced. In addition, the procedure for issuing permits for the cutting of trees will be simplified.
