Georgian Prime Minister’s visit to Estonia Print Version

Georgian Prime Minister met with Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Urmas PaetToday, on September 8, 2013 Georgian Prime Minister arrived in Estonia as part of his two-day state visit.
The Georgian delegation includes Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikashvili, State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Alexi Petriashvili, and Giorgi Pertaia, Director of Georgian National Investment Agency.
As part of his state visit to Estonia, Georgian Prime Minister met today with Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs and attended a business reception hosted by Urmas Paet. The parties discussed issues related to cooperation between the two countries and relations between Georgia and the European Union.
After the meeting, Georgian Prime Minister visited the Estonian Center Information andGeorgian Prime Minister visited the Estonian Center Information and Communications Technologies Communications Technologies where he attended a presentation about innovations in the field of implementation of information and communications technologies. After a meeting at the ICT center, Georgian Prime Minister made comments for journalists.

On September 9 Georgian Prime Minister's state visit to Estonia continues and the second day he met with Estonian President. The meeting was held at the Presidential Palace. The parties discussed bilateral and multilateral relations. Bidzina Ivanishvili expressed his gratitude to Toomas Hendrik Ilves for his firm support to Georgia's territorial integrity and Estonia's efforts in support of Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration. According to Prime Minister, the Georgian Government highly appreciates the work of EU Special Representative within the framework of the Geneva Talks and in the process of conflict resolution and trust-building. The importance of exchange of top level visits was emphasized at the meeting, so that the members of the new government may establish partner relations with their counterparts.
This enlarged format meeting was attended by the Georgian delegation in full.

The same day, Georgian Prime Minister met with Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip. Relevant issues of sectoral cooperation were discussed at this enlarged format meeting.
Bidzina Ivanishvili expressed his contentment with the fact that within his first state visit to Estonia the agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism is about to be signed between Georgia and Estonia. It was pointed out at the meeting that on account of the small sizes of their markets, trade and economic indicators between the two countries seem quite insignificant. At the governmental level, however, there is willingness to encourage investments and support the development of business relations, which will have a positive impact on trade and economic indicators.

After the meeting Bidzina Ivanishvili placed a wreath at the foot of the memorial in memory of fighters fallen in battle for Estonia's independence.
And later the same day Bizdina Ivanishvili's meeting with Ene Ergma was held at the Estonian Parliament. The parties discussed issues related to cooperation between the two countries. Willingness to further parliamentary cooperation and exchange visits by friendly groups of parliament members was expressed. According to Georgian Prime Minister, Georgia highly appreciates Estonian support within the framework of the Development Cooperation Program.
Therefore, a very prolific two-day visit of Prime Minister of Georgia to Republic of Estonia has finished. Bidzina Ivanishvili made comments for journalists after finishing of the visit and summed up the results of the visit. He also answered journalists' questions.
