Today, The Cabinet discussed 40 issues on their agenda during the Government Session, chaired by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

The Cabinet approved the draft resolution of the State Program of Agricultural Beekeeping Cooperative Support. According to the draft, in case of relevance to the preconditions, Agricultural Cooperative Development Agency will provide for the purchase of beehives and technical support for interested cooperatives.

According to the program, the beehives will be given to each participant for 30% of their price, in compliance with the legislation. Participants will also be given the same number of beehives on their current balance sheet but no more than 100 pieces. In addition, the Agency will provide for the accounting/registration of the available beehives on the balance sheet as well as those transferred to the cooperatives within the Program. Finally, participants will receive technical assistance and consulting "on approval of technical regulations about honey."

Furthermore, due to the decisions of today's meeting, amendments have been introduced to the Memorandum (signed in 2011) between the Georgian Government and the Trans Electrica Company, an investor in the implementation of the Khudonhesi Project. According to the amendment, the Trans Electrica is obliged to leave the electricity Khudonhesi generated during the year in Georgia, instead of just leaving three months (which amounts to 10% of electricity generated by Hudoni) of the electricity. As a result, Georgia will consume the total electricity generated by Khudonhesi.
