At the government session chaired by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, cabinet members were briefed on the 2016 budget, and key projects under the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protections purview were approved. The 2016 Budget is planned based on a 3% economic growth indicator, whereas the inflation rate will be used within the parameters defined by the National Bank policy - about 4.5%.
In addition, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection will buy meteorological radar, which will provide the Ministry more detailed information about locational weather forecasts and related issues. This process will help reduce the negative consequences and extreme losses caused by natural disasters. Weather forecasting is also important for the implementation of the country's economic and tourism objectives.
In total, the Cabinet of Ministers discussed 29 issues on the agenda.
