EXECUTIVE GOVERNMENT MEETING HELD ON JULY 21, 2017

Today, a Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili was held at the Administration of the Government. The Cabinet discussed 37 issues on its meeting agenda. At the decision of the Government, 37 villages were added to the list of high-mountainous settlements, and almost 7,000 more people will enjoy social benefits starting next year, including pedagogues, physicians, pensioners, and socially vulnerable citizens. In addition, companies will be exempt from several types of taxes. As of today, of Georgia's 3,700 settlements, half have been recognized as high-mountainous settlements.

The construction of a new terminal will launch in August to enable the Kutaisi International Airport to facilitate six flights at once.

The passenger flow has increased this year by 92%, which is an impressive result of both visa liberalization and efforts invested in the development of tourism.

At the decision of the Government, the Likani Park will be upgraded to the category of national importance. Promoting the park to the category of national importance will further cement the its status by, which is very important in terms of the economic development of Likani-Borjomi and creating workplaces locally.

On the initiative of the Government of Georgia, Vazha-Pshavela Literary Award will be established. At today's meeting, the Government will approve amendments to the Law on State Awards to introduce Vazha-Pshavela Literary Award for poetic, pose, and opinion journalism works of national value.

Similarly, Shota Rustaveli Prize and the National Award will also concern with different areas, and the also seeks larger monetary awards for holders of the National Hero Order.
