Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia held an Official Visit to the Republic of Armenia, which started with a meeting hosted by Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

Greet and Welcome Ceremony was held in the honor of Giorgi Gakharia at the Government House of the Republic of Armenia. Georgian colleague was hosted by Nikol Pashinyan at an interface meeting.

Parties focused on the warm bilateral relations and intensified cooperation in various directions.

Interface meeting was followed with negotiations in an extended format, which engaged government members from both countries. Prime Ministers of Georgia and Armenia made statements for media afterwards.

"Initially we spoke about the friendly relations existing between the two countries, which span over centuries. We also discussed our role and function to further deepen our friendship and enhance its effectiveness.

Of course, one of the most important dimensions of our interaction is economy. We have quite good results towards this end. Trade and commerce is developing between our countries. We spoke about the significance of cooperation in the transport and energy sectors. We discussed arts and culture as well, thereby noting that our positive obligation is to take a good care of cultural heritage on the territory of both countries.

We also touched upon the regional topics and agreed that peace and tranquility is important of all to make sure that our citizens have greater opportunities of prosperity and welfare while being concentrated on the economic growth and development" noted the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Gratitude for paying an Official Visit to Armenia was expressed by the host Prime Minister to his Georgian colleague. Nikol Pashinyan named a further advanced friendly relations with Georgia as a key milestone of his service in the capacity of the Prime Minister of Armenia.

"I deem our current negotiations as being important and effective, as they once again evidence a high level of our interaction and mutual readiness to develop it further to incentivize advancement. With my colleague I discussed a wide range of bilateral agenda. Our itinerary is so wide-spanning and all-inclusive that it is hard to cover them all within a single meeting. We praised the idea of resuming an Intergovernmental Commission of Armenia and Georgia after observing quite a lengthy pause in its operation" noted the Prime Minister of Armenia.

Head of Government of Georgia met President Armen Sarkissian within the scope of his Official Visit to the Republic of Armenia.

Negotiations were held within an interface and extended formats. Parties focused on the warm bilateral relations, along with a positive trend of trade and economic links being eagerly developed. Special focus was also made at the meeting on the significance of cooperation in the area of education and innovations.

President of the Republic of Armenia congratulated Giorgi Gakharia with his appointment to the position of the Prime Minister of Georgia and wished him every success.

Prime Minister of Georgia and Government Delegation on the Official Visit to Yerevan were hosted by the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II.

Also within the scope of the Official Visit, Head of Government of Georgia laid a wreth of garland to the Memorial of Armenians Fallen in 1915.

Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia visited Armenia with a Government Delegation composed of David Zalkaliani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia; Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and Irakli Chikovani, Adviser to the Prime Minister of Georgia.
