The 200 GEL incentives will continue in January, and age threshold for incentive eligibility upon vaccination is lowered to 50. This decision was made by today's meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council chaired by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili at the Government Administration.

The council's decision, designed to encourage vaccination among risk groups even further, will come into force on January 1.

In addition, January 1 to January 10 has been declared days off at public institutions. The Coordination Council urges private establishments to follow suit.

The Interagency Coordination Council once again urges citizens to avoid crowded gatherings, wear facemasks, maintain social distancing, and actively engage in the process of vaccination.

Since the first coronavirus case identified in Georgia, the country has seen 928,030 confirmed cases, with 888,022 recoveries and 13,646 deaths.

Presently, 42 persons are in quarantine, 857 are in clinical hotels, and 4,951 are hospitalized under medical supervision.

The Parliament of Georgia and the President's Administration are actively involved in the work of the Interagency Coordination Council under the Prime Minister.
