Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, as part of his ongoing working visit to Brussels, met with Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, at his residence.

The meeting reaffirmed Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations as the key priority of the country's foreign and security policy.

The Head of Government underlined Georgia's close cooperation with the Alliance in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration resulting in Georgia's effective use of all practical tools available on the path to accession.

The meeting emphasized the firm support of both the Alliance and its partner states for Georgia's Euro-Atlantic aspirations, as well as close cooperation with them. The parties commended Georgia's reforms toward integration into the Alliance.

The meeting with the Secretary General reiterated Georgia's role as the Alliance's staunch and reliable partner, and the country's considerable contribution to ensuring global peace and security in the Black Sea Region.

The parties expressed hope that Georgia's progress and aspirations will be duly reflected in the Alliance's subsequent decisions, in terms of both providing the country's aspirations with political support and scaling up practical opportunities.

The parties also discussed preliminary issues and expectations ahead of the upcoming NATO Summit in Madrid.

The conversation also revolved around the region's security environment and Ukraine's war. In this context, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the Georgian people's solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

The Secretary General of NATO reaffirmed support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Prime Minister of Georgia thanked the Secretary General for his personal efforts and substantial role in ensuring Georgia's progress toward NATO integration.
