Georgian Prime Minister and European Commission’s Vice President discuss Georgia’s progress toward European integration and steps to be taken in future Print Version

The questionnaire completed by Georgia toward receiving an EU membership candidate country's status, Georgia's progress toward European integration, and the country's reforms were the key issues discussed during today's meeting between the Prime Minister of Georgia and the Vice President of the European Commission.
During the meeting held on the margins of the Bratislava Global Security Forum, Irakli Garibashvili and Maroš Šefčovič also discussed steps to be taken by Georgia toward European integration, emphasizing the country's progress in this regard, including in terms of implementing the Association Agreement. The Prime Minister stated that Georgia has already implemented 45% of the reforms under the Association Agreement and the DCFTA, and that this process continues.
The Head of Government underlined that EU integration is the choice of not only the Georgian Government, but also of the Georgian people, and that the country continues complex reforms on this path.
The conversation during the meeting also touched on the ongoing war in Ukraine and its impact on the wider region's security architecture.
The Prime Minister and the Vice President of the European Commission also discussed the dire humanitarian situation in Georgia's occupied territories. Irakli Garibashvili reaffirmed the Georgian Government's commitment to the policy of peaceful conflict-resolution.
