It is my great honor to be here. I wish to initially congratulate you all as our capital has acquired yet another, marvelous and unique skyscraper, which is the first of its kind ever constructed in Tbilisi with absolutely outstanding architecture and functionality. It is indeed a fabulous gift to our city! It was announced by Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia when delivering his keynote speech at the inauguration of Axis Towers.
According to the Head of Government of Georgia, Axis Towers is a joint endeavor of the Georgian Co-Investment Fund and Axis Development LLC. With its scale and magnitude, as well as significance, it may turn into a symbol of success of development, architectural excellence and engineering.
"Almost half a billion GEL or 150 MLN USD has been invested in this project as an FDI. And we all see that it resulted into a marvelous asset. Once again, let me congratulate you all! Multi-functionality and particularly extraordinary scale of the business center at Axis Towers has facilitated the transformation of the Chavchavadze Avenue into a business district of the city. This skyscraper and this 5-star hotel may truly become a symbol of progress, peace and economic development in our country. Why? This project was launched back in 2005, i.e. 17 years ago. Later, during the August War in 2008 and the crisis, it was put on hold and today we all see the result of its completion. It is the tallest building in the capital and yet another modern, multi-functional complex. I am confident that with its individual style and sophisticated design, it will turn into a special place for our city and country, for a lot of tourists, visitors and everyone who embraces this city. As an additional landmark and improved, refined infrastructure for tourism, as well as an institutionalised world-class service standards or substantial quality improvement, it will, of course, enable us to accept a much increased inflow of tourists and to offer guests and visitors of our country a high-level service of international standards. I am profoundly happy with the fact that Axis Towers is an entirely Georgian project - from the idea all the way to the very last phase of its implementation, my dear friends. It truly gives all grounds of success and pride in Georgian architecture and engineering, as this Georgian project will soon be grouped with outstanding projects of the world. Process of its construction involved 200 local vendors and almost 1000 people got jobs. Apart from the direct employment, this wide-scale project will turn into a place of employment and development for plenty of Georgian, large or small entrepreneurs. I wish to use this opportunity and express my gratitude to the author of the idea, organizers, investors and each individual contributing to the implementation of this truly unique and outstanding project. It is a good example of genuine success, security and profitability resulting from investments made into the Georgian economy. I once again wish to particularly thank the constructors, who built this complex asset. Thank you and wish you success!" concluded the Prime Minister of Georgia.
Audience gathered at the inauguration of Axis Towers were greeted and welcomed by Alexander Mezhevidze, Founder of Axis Towers; Tsotne Ebralidze, CEO of Georgian Co-Investment Fund; Archil Gachechiladze, CEO of JSC Bank of Georgia; Alexis Delaroff, CEO of Accor Group East Europe.
Axis Towers is a joint project of Axis Development LLC and Georgian Co-Investment Fund, which stands out with 5 dimensions in a wholesome asset: residential, hospitality, commercial, business and entertainment.
Axis Towers is a contemporary, modernistic building, consisting of a pedestal and two towers of 147 meters high. It is a 41 floor building with 4 being underground and 37 - above the ground. White tower of the building is a residential segment, while the black is a business center with a 5-star Pullman Hotel within the Accor Group from 19th floor.
Building has a swimming pool with an on-off roof and open veranda, fitness space and spa center, 12 restaurants and 7 bars. It has a pedestrian street and recreation space around it.
It is worth noting that Axis Towers is the first world trade center in the region. Total investment value of Axis Towers exceeds 150 MLN USD and Bank of Georgia JSC was engaged in its financing.
Event was attended by representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of the country.
