September 27 marks one of the most tragic dates in the contemporary history of Georgia, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated at the Memorial of the Heroes Fallen in the Fight for the Unity of Georgia.

To commemorate the 31st anniversary of the fall of Sokhumi, the Head of Government-together with Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, and Cabinet Members-laid a wreath at the memorial and paid homage to the memory of those fallen.

"September 27 marks one of the most tragic dates in the contemporary history of Georgia. Today we pay homage to our heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country, homeland, and paid the ultimate price for the idea of Georgia's unification. These heroes had a dream, one of a unified Georgia, and I am convinced that this dream will surely come true," Irakli Kobakhidze stated.
