Prime Minister Vladimer Gurgenidze’s Official Visits to London and Geneva

On 17-19 September, Vladimer Gurgenidze was on an official visit to London and Geneva.

On the first day of the visit, the Prime Minister lunched in Geneva with Kari Tapiola, the Executive Director of International Workers Organization. The same day, the Prime Minister gave interview to CNBC.

On 18 September, the Prime Minister took part in Russia Hedge Funds 2008 Conference.

At the end of the day, the Georgian delegation traveled to London. In London, Vladimer Gurgenidze met with British Prime Minister Gordon Brawn, Foreign Secretary Davit Miliband, Finance Secretary Alistar Darling, and the Mayor of London. At the meeting in the Finance Secretary's office, the parties reached agreement to review double taxation issues with Great Britain to minimize taxation on dividends. As part of the visit, the Prime Minister of Georgia met with the representatives of the British opposition parties. In London, Vladimer Gurgenidze also met with Thomas Mirow, the President of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and attended the investors' conference.
