On 17-18 April 2005 Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli paid an official visit to Uzbekistan.
At the airport he was met by Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Elyor Ganiyev, Georgian Ambassador to Uzbekistan David Zalkaliani and the head of the Uzbek state protocol service Alisher Kuramov.
On 18 April Zurab Noghaideli met Ganiyev and Uzbek Prime Minister Shavkat Mirzoyev. They signed a council convention ratification exchange protocol and a cooperation agreement between two countries' chambers of commerce. Noghaideli visited the State Museum of the Temurid Dynasty. He also met Uzbek President Islom Abduganiyevich Karimov and later held a press conference.
