Government of Georgia – Appearance 2008

The 5th European Resource Bank Meeting in Tbilisi

On October 9-11, 2008 in Tbilisi, at Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel was held the 5th European Resource Bank Meeting - ERBM on the subject:"Resources to Undertake Successful Reforms".

The Prime Minister of Georgia Vladimer Gurgenidze took a floor at the 5th European Resource Bank meeting.

When talking with the press representatives the Prime Minister of Georgia noted that this meeting was very interesting and important. For participation in this meeting Tbilisi gathered more than 30 authoritative research organizations. "Those are such economic research organizations which put their focus on the free market and liberal economy. We are pleased that this year they are gathering in Tbilisi and take this as a great honor for us. It is more pleasant that they gathered in Tbilisi at such a difficult period. Their recommendations, sharing experience with them are very valuable for me, my colleagues, Georgian economists, for those who represent the liberal school. Noteworthy is that some developed countries are interested in our experience in concrete fields. As we face many problems to be solved the poverty rate is rather high here, the unemployment is still a problem and visit of any of such clever people, opportunity of relations with them is very useful.

We have familiarized them with our plans and hopes in the economy promotion, creation of working places and entering the US and European markets. We will be very glad to hear their recommendations in this connection, - stated Vladimer Gurgenidze.
