Opening of U.S.-Georgia Business Summit at Courtyard Mariotte Hotel

On October 27, 2008 at Courtyard Mariotte Hotel was opened the U.S.-Georgia business summit "Promoting Trade and Investment in Georgia".

The American Chamber of commerce promoted trade relations in Georgia between the USA and international business community. The Chamber protects the common economic interests of its members and expresses their position. The American Chamber of commerce now represents 130 members from 15 countries. The Chamber members are operating in various business spheres, including production, trade, transport, power engineering, education, hotel business and others sectors. The USA allotted for the aid to Georgia 176 million US dollars. The assistance of the US International Private Investment Corporation will be also used for development of the construction business in the country. Today the parties executed the Memorandum. The agreement was signed by the Prime Minister of Georgia Vladimer Gurgenidze and U.S. Commerce Deputy Secretary John Sullivan. Vladimer Gurgenidze made a little comment at the summit: "This is one more practical expression of its interest in Georgia by the USA, our great friend, the largest financial and economic partner. Today we meet here about twenty American companies. They acquaint themselves with Georgian partners, familiarize with various projects, discuss investment, - stated the Prime Minister.
