Prime Minister Visits Custom Terminal OPIZA

On February 22 the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Nogaideli visited custom terminal OPIZA where he met the terminal management. They discussed the matter of simplification of custom clearance procedures. The Prime Minister stated that eradication of the institutional corruption at the customs was the service of Zurab Antelidze as well and thanked him.

"Today we face other challenges. Namely, from January 1 took effect the new Customs Code which was adopted past year. This Code provides simplified custom procedures. In the nearest future all fiscal services will unite and the new head of the service will be appointed, - noted Zurab Nogaideli.

After dismissal of Zurab Antelidze the Customs Department is temporarily headed by Levan Jgarkava and the custom terminal - by Michael Orjonikidze. As Mr. Orjonikidze stated after the instructions of the President to facilitate and accelerate the service at terminal OPIZA were cleared 75 vehicles.
