Government of Georgia – Appearance 2007

Awarding small and medium size enterprises

On 13 March Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli participated in the awards ceremony capping off a competition of small and medium-sized enterprises held by the Chamber of Commerce at the Marriott Hotel.

The winners are as follows:

1. Nomination: "Best Small Enterprise"

Unistyle Ltd (Tbilisi)

2. Nomination: "Best Medium-Sized enterprise"

Paliastomi 2004 Ltd (Poti)

3. Nomination: "Best Exporter"

Delta Contact Ltd (Rustavi)

4. Nomination "Best Farm or Agrofarm"

Algi+ Ltd (Gori District, Karaleti village)

The prime minister congratulated the winning enterprises and wished them further success.

"Three years ago the foundation of a very good tradition was laid: small and medium size enterprises all over Georgia began receiving acknowledgement for their successes. It is notable that some of these enterprises have just recently enjoyed success. For instance, last year one of the winning enterprises had a turnover balance of only 160,000 GEL, but this year that figure is forty times higher. This kind of progress is of utmost significance. It is necessary to extend support to similar growing companies and further improve the investment climate for them, so that other enterprises will also have the opportunity to develop as quickly and effectively as the companies that won today," said Zurab Noghaideli.
