Zurab Noghaideli Meets Representatives of Construction Sphere

On August 22 the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli met representatives of construction companies. They discussed the presidential initiative about the vocational training program. The meeting was attended by the labor, health and social affairs minister Vladimer Chipashvili and economic development minister Irakli Chogovadze.

Vladimer Chipashvili presented the detailed plan of program implementation, the method of registration of applicants for training. The plan provides selection of trainees who will work for every company for 3 months. The state will pay them the 150 GEL grant per month. The total assignment for this program amount to 24 million GEL. Next yea in the country will be opened 11 vocational schools where the applicants will be able to obtain knowledge in the primary professions.

"I would like to present a new economical initiative of our president which concerns the issue of employment of jobless people and the governmental plans in connection with the construction sector. Consequently, we shall outline the plans of our joint actions. As it is known next year Georgia will get much more foreign investments. The main investments will be implemented in the construction sphere. Naturally, this will result in the demand for new working places. Therefore we shall start training of our citizens just now in order to enable them to obtain the respective skills for the next year. As a result of implementation of this program many people wile b employed that will decrease the unemployment rate in our country," - stated the Prime Minister at the meeting.

Zurab Noghaideli familiarizes the representatives of construction companies with the amount of investments to be implemented in the concrete spheres. He said, particularly, that in 2006-2011 the health care sphere will be financed with 600 million GEL; education sphere - 497 million GEL; social infrastructure - 160 million GEL, road infrastructure - 550 million GEL, inland roads - 100 million GEL, construction sphere - 350 million GEL.
