Working Visit of Prime Minister of Georgia to the Kingdom of Belgium Continues

On July 26, the second day of his working visit to the Kingdom of Belgium the Prime Minister met the NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer whereupon he attended the session of the North-Atlantic Council.

The Prime Minister in his address highlighted the current reforms in the country, the issues of conflict regulation and restoration of territorial integrity of Georgia. After the twenty-minute speech was held the discussion where the ambassadors of countries-NATO members expressed their benevolence and support to Georgia and to the efforts of the prime Minister of Georgia, in person.

At the meeting was pronounced the firm support of NATO member-countries that enables the transition of Georgia to the regime of intensive dialogue.

At the joint press conference Zurab Noghaideli stated: "We and NATO are ready for next steps. This is one item on the agenda: when will be this decision made, but I am sure that this will be very soon."

In his turn, NATO Secretary General noted that the matter of transition of Georgia to the intensive dialogue will be supposedly considered in September at the meeting of foreign ministers of NATO member-countries.
