The Meeting of the Government of Georgia was held at 14:00 on 8 September 2008. The agenda consisted of 48 items.
Before the commencement of the Meeting, the Prime Minister reminded the audience that Georgia's friend and partner countries planned a large donors' conference in October. The goal of the conference is to mobilize the aid that Europe, America and other partner countries will render to us. The public is already aware of a part of these programs, and intensive work is being done on the other programs.
Before discussing the items of the Agenda, Vladimer Gurgenidze asked Minister of Agriculture Bakur Kvezereli to inform the members of the Government about the situation of the vintage.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, all the technical issues have already been settled, and the harvest is expected to amount to 130 000 tons. According to the Minister, the voucher program would be launched that week.
As the Prime Minister said, the vintage this year must be conducted well, effectively and in an organized manner. "Just as we promised it to our people in Kakheti and Racha," Vladimer Gurgenidze said.
