The Meeting of the Government of Georgia was held on 12 April 2008. The agenda of the Meeting consisted of 30 items.
At the commencement of the Meeting, Prime Minister of Georgia Vladimer Gurgenidze congratulated the audience on Georgian National Team's winning the European Cup in Rugby by defeating the Russian National Team in Krassnoyarsk. The Prime Minister of Georgia assigned the Ministry of Finance of Georgia and the Ministry of Culture, Monuments Protection and Sports to make funds available to award the Georgian National Team with 100 000 Lari for the achievement.
After that, the Prime Minister of Georgia informed the audience on his 9-10 April visit to Bahrain. He said: we had meetings with interesting investors whom we are going to seen in Georgia in the near future. The Prime Minister of Georgia expressed his satisfaction with the decision to establish a financial center in Georgia, saying: Bahrain did it 20-25 years ago and has successfully pursued the model since then. Bahrain has just 500 000 citizens but its Gross Domestic Product is twice as high as Georgia's similar parameter, and its financial sector accounts for over a quarter of the economy. These are the results that liberalization can bring, the Prime Minister of Georgia added.
