On September 12, 2007 was held the Meeting of the Government of Georgia. The agenda consisted of 39 items.

Upon beginning of the Meeting the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli welcomed new members of the Government of Georgia: Eka Tkeshelashvili, Alexandre Khetaguri and Davit Chantladze, and wished them success in their new jobs.

The Prime Minister of Georgia informed those attended that in Kakheti, namely in Dedoplistskaro and Signaghi regions took start the vintage. This year, he stated the harvest of grapes is very large - about 200-210 thousand tons. Our objective is to provide the loss-free vintage and storage. For this purpose shall be taken all possible measures under the state program "Rtveli-2007" to be considered at the current Meeting of the Government. The Prime Minister asked the Georgian agriculture minister Peter Tsiskarishvili to inform those attended about the measures related to the beginning of vintage.

The Georgian agriculture minister Peter Tsiskarishvili informed the attended that five days ago in Gurjaani was opened the headquarters "Rtveli-2007" which will coordinate the total activities related to the vintage. The headquarters will obtain the full information about the current situation within the vintage process and in case of necessity will provide an individual or legal person with the information about the purchase of grapes. At present, said the minister, the vintage is in progress in the villages of Samtatskaro and Pirosmani of Dedoplistskaro region. Grapes are gathered for retail sale in the market and is already sold in Tbilisi. As to grapes subject to processing, it have not year attain to the proper condition of ripeness. In some five days the vintage will start in the villages of Signaghi and Gurjaani regions.

The Prime Minister of Georgia thanked the minister for provided information and ordered to the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia to mobilized to the maximum extent the work for the successful implementation of "Rtveli-2007" program.

The Prime Minister of Georgia informed the Government members that next week the Government of Georgia shall make a decision regarding the measures against floods, namely, on those emergency activities to be carried out in the gorges of Tskhenistskali, Rioni, Aragvi and other rivers. The time has come when we shall transit from liquidation of flood outcomes to their prevention in order to provide that in spring the country will face anticipated floods in much better situation, - he stated.
