On May 23, 2007 was held the Meeting of the Government of Georgia. The agenda consisted of 39 items.
Upon beginning of the Meeting the agriculture minister of Georgia Petre Tsiskarishvili at request of the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli informed the members of the Government about the course of operations for cleaning of irrigation canals in Kakheti. Namely, he noted that some 10 days as a result of heavy rains the Lower Alazani irrigation canal was polluted and this generated problems in three areas. The cleaning operations which began on the same day will be completed today and from May 24 the irrigation water will be supplied to Telavi, Gurjaani and Signaghi regions.
The Prime Minister of Georgia noted that the problem is very important. This year all conditions for rehabilitation of irrigation systems are available and he ordered to the agriculture minister to attach maximum attention to the course of operations to be implemented for this purpose and to ensure their proper completion.
