Government of Georgia – Government Meetings 2006 Year

Meeting of the 31 May 2006

The Meeting of the Government of Georgia was held on 31 May 2006. The Agenda consisted of 51 items.

At the beginning of the Meeting, Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli informed the audience that the rotation of the man of the Russian Peace Battalion on 30 May had been carried out in full violation of the bilateral agreement between Russia and Georgia. The impression was that Russia was not at all interested in the agreements with Georgia. He underscored that that act could be evaluated as Russia's provocation and the Georgian side needed to exercise more caution.

The Prime Minister of Georgia also noted that the implementation of investment projects was entering a decisive phase and it was very important particularly for regions. He called on the Ministry of Education (where 80-mln-Lari investments are being made) and the Motorway Department (that implements the investment projects worth nearly 200 million Lari) to study on site the progress in the fulfillment of these projects and planned programs within the nearest future and assigned the top officials of the Chancellery of the President of Georgia to put the question on the agenda for consideration at the Government meeting in the second half of June.
