Meeting of the 2 May 2006

The Meeting of the Government of Georgia was held on 2 May 2006. The Agenda consisted of 16 items.

At the beginning of the Meeting, Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli informed the audience that 12 May was the deadline for accepting applications for privatization of Elektrokavshiri and Batumi Port and asked the economic team of the Government of Georgia to pay special attention to the preparation of the process and after the expiry of the term of accepting applications, to the formulation of the decisions made.

The Prime Minister of Georgia also said that Tbilgas bankruptcy proceeding would end on 12 May and that the decision had been made to pay the cost of the natural gas consumed before 1 May at the old rate that was subsidized from the state budget. The Prime Minister of Georgia underscored that an instrument had been developed to subsidize, under the conditions of the new tariff, particularly vulnerable individuals from the state budget and called on citizens to urgently file applications with the State Agency for Social Allowance and Employment of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia to process the data in a timely manner to render assistance to them.
