The head of press-service of the Prime Minister of Georgia held the briefingThe head of press-service of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Nikoloz Mchedlishvili held the briefing. Here is Nikoloz Mchedlishvili's speech:

"The Prime-Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri welcomed the approval of changes in the budget of 2010 by the parliament of Georgia. It's worth noting, that the forecast of economic growth as of 2010 has increased from 4.5 % as it was predictable earlier, to 5.5. %.

Besides, the considerable sums from the state budget have been mobilized in connection with the construction of 500 kV transmission line; and 12 million Lari has been allocated to rehabilitate several hospitals.

I want to inform you that 1000 new beds have been added to hospital bed fund and an area of about 24000 meter-square has been put into operation.

I'll comment on some budget parameters for 2011 as well. The budget deficit will be reduced from the current 6.3% to approximately 4.3. % for the next year.

How can we manage to reduce the budget deficit? First of all, it is "to restrain bureaucratic appetite". What does it mean?

- the government has made the decision to reduce expenditure of all ministries by 10%

- to declare full moratorium on vehicle purchase; and

- not to increase officials' salaries;
