On November 20, 2010, the Head of press-service of the Prime-Minister of Georgia made the statement. Nikoloz Mchedlishvili noted that
"On the basis of the consultation with the president of Georgia according to the order of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Eka Tkeshelashvili has been appointed State Minister for Reintegration; she is also entrusted to fulfill responsibility of a Vice Prime Minister."
