"One of the priorities of the Government of Georgia is to fight against disinformation with effective measures" stated Natia Mezvrishvili, Head of Government Administration at the Official Reception held today within the scope of the Conference on Strategic Communication and Fight against Disinformation.
Head of Government Administration thanked the event participants and stressed that fight against disinformation is only possible through a close cooperation and joint efforts.
"On behalf of the Government of Georgia, I wish to thank the European Union and our partners for their decision to let us host this important forum in Tbilisi.
One of the priorities of the Government of Georgia is to fight against disinformation through effective measures, which are established in our country. As I mentioned earlier, effective mechanisms of strategic communication have been established at various line ministries and within the Office of the Prime Minister of Georgia. Apart from this, we introduced effective mechanism of coordination in the Office of the Prime Minister of Georgia. I hope that you will have plenty of opportunities to get exposed to the history of our country and to savor Georgian wine" added the Head of Government Administration.
H.E. Carl Hartzell, Ambassador of EU to Georgia also welcomed the guests at the Official Reception, thereby stressing the significance of fight against disinformation and thanked the guests for their participation in the conference.
Event was attended by experts working on the topic of disinformation and strategic communication, diplomats, representatives of civil society and media outlets.
