Presentation of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) 2019 Summary Report Print Version

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has submitted its 2019 Summary Report to the Prime Minister's Human Rights and Gender Equality Adviser, the Chairperson of the Interagency Commission on Gender equality, Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, and the Coordinator of the Parliamentary Commission on Gender Equality of Georgia.

The meeting discussed UNFPA's performance in 2019, including empowerment of national policy for advancing gender equality and reproductive rights, promotion of generation and management of knowledge resources, strengthening of national human rights monitoring mechanisms through the engagement of reproductive health and rights, stronger response from the health system to gender-based violence and violence against women, integration of gender equality and healthy lifestyle issues into the systems of formal and informal education, and facilitation of communication campaigns for cementing gender equality.

The parties also discussed priorities for 2020 and plans for future cooperation.
