Candidates, whose applications/documents meet the relevant requirements defined by legislation and bylaws, were invited for interviews with the Competitive Selection Commission.
Eight candidates were invited: Zurab Aznaurashvili, Davit Akhalauri, Alexandre Kobaidze, Razhden Kuprashvili, Elguja Makalatia, Badri Niauri, Malkhaz Rashoiani, and Vazha Jankarashvili.
On February 6, 2023, based on Paragraph 8, Article 2016 of the Law of Georgia on the Fight against Corruption, and on the decision of the Competitive Selection Commission, in order to make a decision on appointment to the Position of Head of the Anticorruption Bureau LEPL, three candidates will be referred to the Prime Minister of Georgia. These are: Zurab Aznaurashvili, Razhden Kuprashvili, and Elguja Makalatia.
The Prime Minister of Georgia, within 1 week after being presented with candidates for the Position of Head of the Anticorruption Bureau, will appoint one of them to the Position of Head of the Anticorruption Bureau, or will express a substantiated refusal to appoint any of the candidates, for which he will issue a relevant executive order.
On the decision of the Competitive Selection Commission for the Position of Head of the Anticorruption Bureau LEPL-established by authority of the Georgian Prime Minister's December 22, 2022 and December 30, 2022 Executive Orders #289 and #304, respectively-and in line with the January 10, 2023 Bylaw of the Competitive Selection Commission on the Approval of the Bylaws of the Competitive Selection Commission for the Position of Head of the Anticorruption Bureau LEPL, a competitive selection for the position of Head of the Anticorruption Bureau LEPL was announced via the website administered by the Civil Service Bureau LEPL.
