"First of all, I would like to thank Thomas Lubeck and the International Financial Corporation for arranging this conference. It is very important what the conference is dedicated to and why it is held in Georgia.

The conference is dedicated to tax systems, Tax Code, and the ways of better processing of documents related to tax system. Representatives of 20 different countries have arrived to attend the conference. There are representatives of the Ministries of Finance of Eastern European countries - Poland and Czech Republic, as well as representatives of the Ministries of Finance of Post-Soviet Central Asian Countries. The main discussion will be carried out with respect to reforms implemented in Georgia, types of reforms to be implemented not only in Georgia, but also in other developing countries, as well as ways of supporting business development by tax system.

It is very important that everyone mention the reforms implemented in Georgia with respect to corruption, as well as the tax system. It's especially noteworthy that the World Bank and the International Financial Corporation carry out these reforms at a very high level and they would like to introduce these reforms to other countries.

On January 1, the new Tax Code took effect, which is very interesting for international financial community, and one of the issues on the agenda of today's conference is related to the new Tax Code.
